Creating the Catalogue
This online catalogue was created by students in the Fordham Art History upper level course, Contemporary Art in Exhibition. Students in this course spent the semester studying an array of art exhibitions, museum installations, and museum websites to learn how to organize a contemporary art exhibition.
They get first-hand experience with curating, installing and organizing an art exhibition, including writing and publishing an online catalogue. This process equips students with several skills, including writing for a public audience, the creation of effective and informative catalogue essays and educational programming, visual and digital literacy, and a basic understanding of copyright law and fair use guidelines.
Special thanks to Angela Michalski, Stephan Apicella-Hitchcock, Fordham ACE Network and the Fordham Art History Program for helping to make this catalogue possible.
